This presentation was delivered online on November 11th, 2020 to the Wilton Justice Group who are based in County Cork, Ireland.
John Moriarty was a philosopher and writer from Listowel, County Kerry. His work touched on myth, spirituality, ecology, mankind’s disconnection from nature and from our past, among many other subjects. This talk presents the key biographical details of Moriarty’s life, and then explores, in the context of the climate emergency, how humans ‘shape the earth to suit themselves’, a recurrent theme in Moriarty’s work.
The presentation included a discussion session afterward. Questions and comments are still very welcome, and can be sent to [email protected].
